Adopt a Big Cat

ADI (that’s Animal Defenders International) work hard to end the suffering of animals in captivity and to protect wild animals and their environments.

They have rescued hundreds of animals from circuses around the world for over 20 years now.  The animals go to sanctuaries, which provide a haven for animals who have suffered lifelong pain, fear and distress.  

The new ADI Wildlife Sanctuary in South Africa is now home to species such as lions.  Their secure home is in a natural habitat, so that they can have a life which is as close as possible to what nature intended.

Now that they are safe, they need daily care – food, water, veterinary treatment, enrichment activities (that’s stuff to stop them getting bored) – and the sanctuary obviously needs maintaining too (to make sure the animals and people there are safe and the animals can’t escape.
