It's a great feeling to grow your own.

In our garden, we've planted a bay leaf tree, mint, parsley, basil, chives, thyme - all with varying degrees of success, I must say.  But the pleasure we get of growing our own - even if it doesn't quite work - has been fantastic, especially when it works!  

There's nothing like adding basil to your salad - it really does add flavour;  or adding mint to a Pimms on a hot summer's day.  It's great to just be able to step out and pick your own from your own crop.
