The RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) is Britain's oldest horticultural charity, having been founded back in 1804. It's mission is to bring gardening to everyone, and it has lots of initatives to do just that. With campaigns such as Britain in Bloom, Wild About Gardening, Greening Great Britain, National Gardening Week, Campaign for School Gardening and Horticulture Matters, there's lots to get involved with. Plus they have lots of workshops and advice, and famous flower shows such as RHS Chelsea and the Malvern Autumn Show. In 2026, there are new shows: RHS Badminton Flower Show is in the South Gloucestershire countryside (that’s the 8th to 12th July 2026); and RHS Sandringham Flower Show is to be held in the grounds of the Norfolk estate – royal family-owned – from the 22nd to 26th July 2026”.
The RHS gardens include RHS Rosemoor (Devon), RHS Hyde Hall (Essex), RHS Harlow Carr (North Yorkshire), RHS Wisley (Surrey) and most recently RHS Bridgewater (Greater Manchester). RHS members get free entry to RHS gardens and free entry to RHS partner gardens at selected times of the year, so there's lots to see and enjoy.
