Free the Bears is a charity in Australia and they have done an amazing job over the years rescuing over 1,000 bears from captive situations and looked after them in their sanctuaries in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.

The bears are often in terrible conditions when they are rescued, and many have lived their  lives in tiny cages with little or no food or water.  They were founded by an incredible lady, Dr Mary Hutton, who has just announced her retirement from the charity.
